Lost: Movie References

I finally got 100% caught up on my Lost watching (greatest drama on TV in a LONG time). Anyways, I couldn't help but notice the plethera of nods to hollywood movies littered throughout the series.

Ones I noticed off the top of my head:
TPS reports mentioned by Lock's boss - Office Space
Sawyer calls the little kid "Shortround" - Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom
Sawyer calls Jin and Michael "Chewy and Han" on the raft - Star Wars

There were several more that are escaping me at this point. Anyone else catch any?

I don't know how to put it, but...uh...those are some weak references. Those are the sort of things that have ascended past movie references into pop culture/slang.

Sorry, there's so much potential for subtle hints, clues and references towards plotlines/characters in the show, I was expecting something more from this thread.

I don't know how to put it, but...uh...those are some weak references. Those are the sort of things that have ascended past references into pop culture.

agreed ... i expected to see something that I wouldn't say to people, and stuff that hinted at things going on in the show.

Oh I agree that they aren't subtle little things that only the movie educated would catch, but I don't ever recall such "pop culture" references sneaking into TV shows/other movies like that.

simpsons, family guy, over there ... those shows ring a bell?

(sorry those are the only shows I really watch aside from LOST and they all have had movie references in em)

the OC references star wars all the time... yeah, this isn't much of a revelation

not sure if TPS reports should be included as a reference to Office Space... those things are real... test program set... although Office Space did make the name popular with the general public

yea no kidding...esp in family guy they load em up with references that probably go right by half the viewer.
