lost merchandise....how long before it becomes mine?

last jan. a friend of mine came to los angeles to visit me, while he was there we went and visited his friend who is at a marine base that is about halfway between LA and Vegas, about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive...while there the marine and another marine were in my car going to a party...the 2nd marine (so a friend of a friend of a friend) left his nice Dallas Cowboys jacket in my car...i have been by the base once since then driving to Vegas, but my friend wasnt too concerned and said he hadnt heard anything about the jacket so not to worry about it...

i hate the cowboys and dont want it...since its been 8 months now and no one has called me about it, is it cool to sell on Egay?

Isn't the limit @ police stations like 90 days? You drop it off, and if no one claims it in 90 days, it yours.

Find a way to give it back to the guy. It's the right/nice thing to do.

Do a little work to get it back to the guy... imagine how happy you'd be if he did the same for you.

i tried calling my friend the last time i was going to vegas and he said not to worry about it, i dont remember his or the marine that we went to visits name, dont even know for sure if they are still at that base...

it was also pretty obvious he left it in my car i think cause he also left 2 ping pong paddles and the party we went to was their friends, so if it wasnt at the house it he had to think of the car and he could easily get into contact with me, but harder for me to get a hold of him

Well, as generous as it is of your friend to not be worried or want you to worry about the guy losing his jacket, why don't you do him one better and actually return it to the person who lost it.

Tell your friend you're not worried, you just want a name/address to return a jacket.
