Lost IDE controllers on two computer

I was putting together a Epox 8K9A2+ and everytime I format it their is no IDE drivers, I was over it for a while so I got on my computer and when it booted up the computer said something has changed and it didn't have a CD or a burner, Almost like a no IDE controller bug running around in here, If someone know anuthing about this I would be thankfull

The one time I was infected with a virus it was a memory virus, when I tried to format and reinstall it showed no HD. The virus has attatched itself to the master boot record. If you can and your board supports it turn on the boot sector virus scan in the BIOS.. fdisk\mbr fixed the problem.
PS: I got the virus after downloading a utility to a floppy, check any floppys that you have used latley. by the time I had found the problem I had infected several other utilty floppys I use...always write protect your floppys.

well don't thank it is a virus, I did get the Epox to format and show the IDE's but had to use Windows XP pro and I didn't want to do that, Everytime I tried Windows Me no cd, The other one the only way to get it to even boot now is clear the bios but as soon as you shut it down you have to clear the bios again or it will not boot, Computers who know right now I wish I never got into working on them
