Lost HD space ...with copy and paste

I was running out of room on one of my hard drives 120gb seagate, had only about 3.7gig available and I cut and pasted a bunch of files onto another HD about 11gb ...well on the HDD I pasted the files into I clearly lost about 11 gb and on the Seagate I gained 0 disk space and the files are gone ...still have 3.7gig avail...what give ..I ran disk check through norton and disk cleanup actuall all of the norton Utils ...How could I just lose 11 gig like that ....

Did you empty your Norton protected files and the Recycle Bin?

Dude I suck ..thank you ....I cleand out protected folder on the e drive not my system drive ...that worked ..thanks
