I can't connect to my Cox server effective 11/21/04.
I did add 256mb of memory and placed it in the first position, moving the 128 stick to the back. The system finds the memory okay. It is an ASUS CUSL2 motherboard.
I removed IMesh and NewDoNet and Glophone and LOOKOUT Search application which I had loaded Friday. I had the Internet after that. I just was not impressed with the Applications.
My wife and I use a Netgear Hub to the cable. I am running Windows 2000 Pro with all the latest updates. She is running XP Home. Our settings are the same in Outlook Express and IE 6 and in the Network settings.
I reloaded the Netgear Driver for my machine. Checked to see that the card was lit when connected. I checked the cables between our machines.
I reloaded TCP/IP Protocol.
I have contacted Cox twice and verified the account is correct.
I opened the box and checked the wires for loose connections.
I ran Norton AV, Spy-Bot, AdAware, RegMech, Winpatrol and found no garbage hanging around.
The error message I receive from Outlook Express is this:
?The host 'pop.west.cox.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop.west.cox.net', Server: 'pop.west.cox.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10050, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D?
