Ana Lucia is just stupid, particularly the first couple episodes where she is the "leader" of the remote group. Shannon was horrible the first few episodes, too, then ok, then dead, oh well. Jack was bad, too: "I'm making a horrible decision because are you a doctor? No." Michael was ok for a while but got way too enthusiastic about everything, particularly "WAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT" as someone already quoted... then he just goes off "I'm going to get my son. Alone. And no one can help me. Do you have a son? No." Then he comes back and kills everyone. Grrrr.... Ok, who's next: ah yes, John Locke, philosopher? No. "You just gotta believe!" In what? It's like they're trying to tap into peoples' religious feelings without actually having a religion so the island becomes a religion.
The whole show irritated me. I watched the first two seasons because it looked interesting and I thought there would be some cool plot with all the weird stuff happening but no, it's a mysterious buildup of "electromagnetic energy" (ok why do movie makers always think they know something about physics?) that has to be controlled by a magic computer by a person every 108 minutes. It has to be a person - no timer allowed. Oh, and there has to be other people to watch you. Oh, and this energy magically heals people. How hokey can it get? They still didn't say what the black smoke monster was. I hate Lost now and I love it, like I hate and love myself (LOTR is awesome

Bingo. I want to watch it, but am disappointed how the show is turning out. This season, I am determined to find new shows. Also, the websites and other stuff designed to keep fans involved during the ridiculous stretches where LOST is not on the air is stupid. Just concentrate on making a good show, first of all. Then you can do all of that gay Intarweb fan stuff.
I voted for charlie because I hate that druggie. I google 'Michael Lost' and see he is the whiney black 'father'. Im young, so however annoying shannon and kate are are forgiven by me. I hated shannon for what she was, but doesnt mean eye candy wasnt appreciated. I dont find kate annoying, she just wants her friends to stay alive.
As for the guy and girl in a coma/paralysis due to spider bites, as the island is pergatory there are moral lessons the show is trying to get across... i guess.

Edit: whoa, I already have multiple posts in this thread disparaging Kate.
My favorites were Ekco and Charlie. Charlie was always the most interesting character and he was always just fun to watch. Especially in episodes where him and Hurley would go on adventures.
Sun always pissed me off because she was a really shitty person. Jin is a huge dick but it is more or less her father's fault (all the flashbacks make him look like a decent guy until he got hooked in with her). Every time they make him out to be a huge dick because Sun is a dirty slut it just pisses me off.
Jack has really been pissing me off lately. Especially with the "Others" bullshit. He had a bagillion opportunities to just be like "Seriously WTF, just tell me what is going on" and he NEVER FUCKING DOES.
I have only seen up to season 3.
