Lost chains and file allocation problems.....

Well, I knew I would finally have something happen to my system that I didn't like.

I was re-installing my o/s (as I do just about every month) and I copied all my data over to my other HDD and luck have it, the damn thing overheated and screwed up the partition table somehow.

I ran it through norton disk doc and it gave me a whole load (4GB) of recovered file fragments. Is there a program that will go through these fragments and re-create the files? I don't want to manually scour all the files and try to re-create them myself.

Still having problems with that huh?

Looks like your FAT was screwed. Once Disk Doctor or whatever has created the lost chain/clusters on disk, the only way to get your data back is to manually go through the files.

Otherwise you would have needed a backup copy of the FAT if you wanted to rescue as much of the data as possible.
