Windows 2000 sp2
IBM Intellistation M
IDE bus
Ok, this machine has lost its cd-rom drive under windows. Both the hard disk and cdrom are ide devices and are visable from the system bios. the system will boot to a cd, so the cdrom is working... under windows the device shows up in the device manager correctly, but no drive letter assosiated with it under windows explorer. under windows disk management there is no cd rom device. i've uninstalled/reinstalled the device several times...(both physically and in software) with no positive results - Windows does find the new hardware but still no drive letter... user did mention that this started soon after he installed ezcd5. that has since been uninstalled and still no fix. i've checked roxio's website with no results, and have a service call into ibm that is being researched...
any ideas?
