There's too many small things about Lost to make it not my favorite show. House and Dexter are way better to me. Lost is a solid third, though.
 
If it weren't for the fact that they wait 18 months in between seasons... at least with the twilight zone you knew then ending. The plane landed and the engine was all tore up man! Capt. Kirk was right!

House is good but he's losing his touch... literally, becoming a nice guy so...

I have to catch up on Dexter, I think I watched seasons 1 and 2.
 
If anything, Lost is one of the best shows ever. The characters have depth... every one of them has qualities you love and hate. Most shows don't have that... some shows try hard to replicate it and fails majorly, case in point: Heroes
 
Best ever, ever, ever... in its category. 😛 I don't think I could compare shows like Seinfeld, Curb your enthusiasm, and Arrested Development with shows like Lost. They're just completely different things, but all of them I love... >_>

I just can't see it that way. There's too much bad acting in Lost. Like Faraday for example 😛. Granted, he's gone so it's moot, but there's a few other characters like that too, and they bring the whole show down for me. Not enough to not watch of course.
 
Best show this year, probably not. Best show on at the time of its first or second season, possible. I didn't start watching it until the summer before the third season when I got the 1st disk of season 1 and have to say I was hooked.
