I am pretty sure statutory rape doesn't apply when you are married.

That is how Charlie Chaplin got out of trouble. He married the girl he had sex with before the police could arrest him.

Contrary to popular belief, sex with someone under the age of 18 isn't rape.

Again, depends on the State and Nevada tends to be fairly lax. However if they go back to Colorado then nope:

The age of consent in Colorado is 17, however there exists in the legislation close in age exceptions, which allow those aged 15 and 16 to engage in acts with those less than ten years older and those less than 15 to engage in acts with those less than four years older. However a 17-year-old can not legally consent to person that is in position of trust.

Wrong, it very much does. In older times yes that was true as rapes were not treated as they are now. However since the 1980's rape cases have been treated differently making it more prosecutable for the woman. Catch is if you are a man and get raped, not all states consider that men can be raped. :hmm:

I get the feeling most of those laws are applying to unmarried individuals, this case is in regards to someone who is married.

If there was no marriage involved, most likely no sex. The marriage occurring first can be treated as a defense.

On other info: A quick google has sources that say her 'racks' are real, and that her age is real (she was in some teen pageant). Her mom gave consent, and the dad is not mentioned.

So..... Its legal for them to get married, but not have sex?

No, if they are legally married, they may have consensual sex, despite what other misinformed posters are stating.

There is no statutory rape possible between two legally married people.

Hard to believe she's 16, can't find any real confirmation however everything does say she is other than one site that says 17.

And that is not country music, not by a mile. Although I guess most of it is just "pop" music now any way, like in the 90's and early 00's when all it wanted to be was rock.

Demo, you're wrong. You are confusing marital rape (by definition non-consensual and having nothing to do with the age of either the husband or the wife) and statutory rape.

Don't get into an argument with Perky about the law...

Not that i'm an expert or anything, but... he'll pwn you

Good for him.

I've got a feeling some 17yo high school quarterback really hates his motorboating guts now...

Céline Dion was older when she got married and started dating her manager at 19 (he was the one who did not want them to date before she was an adult). From Wikipedia:

Dion first met her husband and manager, Rene Angelil in 1980, when she was 12 and he was 38, after she and her mother sent him a demo tape of a song they had written. They began a relationship in 1987, and became engaged in 1991. They married on December 17, 1994, at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec. On January 5, 2000, Dion and Angelil renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas.

This. The girl looks like she could easily be in her 20s.

Yeah, I agree with that. Something looks off on how old she looks, but maybe it's the makeup, eyeliner, mascara and such. That stuff can be deceiving.

Further links says she was in Donald Trump's 2010 Miss Washington Teen swimsuit competition.

She's against bullying. It's SO mean.

She also tells us all that her breast are rill, her lips are rill, even her eyelashes are rill. Everything about her is rill!

Her voice and her presentation are annoying, to say the least.

In the vid, she also mentions winning a beauty pageant in 2009, which would make her 14 then (or at most barely 15.) :hmm:

The whole thing is sketchy.
