LOST -ABC Series-

I liked it as well. It was something different and not some stupid family sitcom that has been done a bajillion times. I'm trying to figure out what the giant thingy is that ate the pilot, T-Rex or some other dino? Anyway good show so far. 😉

I dunno it seemed pretty cheesy to me. The main character is racing around the beach saving a bunch of people's lives with airplane parts exploading everywhere... just seems pretty lame. It has a good premise, and looked like it had some good photography... too bad it seems kind of phony to me.

This looked and sounded amazing in HD. It definitely qualifies as best use of 5.1 surround in a TV show.

JJ Abrams created/wrote (?) LOST... the same guy who did Alias... he's good.

Well... he's also the guy that did Felicity (hence many of the chars were on Alias).

Heh.. we just saw the preview, we're going to watch it.

It had better be better than watching CSI reruns on SpikeTV.

I watched the first 40 mintutes. BaboonGuy, never refer to this as the adult Lord of the Flies. Thats what i HOPED it would be, a physcological thriller of survival insticts and the regression to man's primal beginnings.

But what do we get? A cheesy story that has to rely on a mysterious monster that eats people. OH NO! Not the boogie man! With a the cliches, im surprised the black guy didn't die first. And please, the hot shot doctor, BARF! They had a fire, but he didnt bother to sterilize that needle. I want that hour of my life back.

JJ Abrams said in an interview that the monster wasn't a dinosaur, and that some of the people we've seen already weren't on the plane crash.

Maybe the actual plot is something Far Cry-ish. Whatever the case, I'm intrigued.

You don't know JJ Abrams, obviously. He's not a straight-arrow kinda guy. If you watched any of Alias, you would know it. 3 seasons of twists and turns and it's-not-what-it-looks-likes.

But if your heart is set already based on this one episode and what it appears to be, then you have too little patience to follow an entire series anyway. Oh well.

It was good until the 'T-rex' showed up. That made me mad because that is such a cheap plot device...I was hoping for Cast Away with more than just Tom Hanks. All the action on the beach and the exploding engine was cool.

Hmm maybe I'll give it another chance since that wasn't a dinosaur and there is more than meets the eye...now things like showing the dog when they were looking for the cockpit makes sense!

It certainly kept my attention (unlike CSI-NY which was so slow I fell asleep) and the guy getting sucked into the jet engine was startling to say the least. I like the idea that some of the people weren't in the plane crash. Hope that's true. I'll be watching in the future to see if things develop well.

I saw the ad for it while watching the news, which I do once a week or so to justify paying a DirecTV bill, and felt nauseous. Honestly, how can anyone watch the drivel the networks play? I'd rather be kicked in the nuts.
