so why does Linus care so much about the island now? his original reason was doing Jacob's bidding, but Linus eventually realized the truth, killed Jacob, and lost his reason to be on the island.

is Locke going to somehow manage to have Linus take his place?

Yeah, he's going to jump into the light water slide and become Flinus.

I feel 95% satisfied with this episode.

but I get the feeling like they're never going to answer the Walt mystery and that annoys me greatly.

2 seasons about time travel, you'd think they'd have managed to fit in an 18 year-old Walt.

AWESOME episode. might have been the best yet. was the biggest/more important so far at least.

loki, there is NO chance they talk about walt again

and the reason why they are all on the island, pretty simple reason everyone kind of saw in the beginning. they all were unhappy off the island. good shit

I know and I'm not one of those "omg, every question must be answered" people, but seriously? they spent like 2 seasons centered around Walt and the crazy shit he was doing and how Important he was.

with all the time travel going on, you'd think they'd have managed to fit him in for a scene or two.

Pretty comical that they basically changed Widmore's purpose entirely by having him simply say that Jacob visited him and showed him the errors of his ways.

The "rules" between Widmore and Linus, though - they just completely disregarded all of it. Killing Ben's daughter was "against the rules"... how are either of them even remotely involved in the "rules"?

they spent a decent amount of time on walt, but I don't think it was ever that big a part of the whole scheme of things. or maybe its just something I don't really care too much about, it was so long ago.

I can't wait to see what happens in the finale. I hope we get a decent amount of "what happens" and not too much cliffhanger

you know its always the same amount of episode 😛

Lol I know, but this one in-particular was crazy fast, even though a lot happened.

I hate Michelle Rodriguez, but that was an awesome little bit with her. :awe:

Think those were just rules that they setup up between themselves. Not really rules of the island.
Flocke promises Ben the island when he leaves but at the end revels his plan to use Desmond to destroy the island. So what's Ben motivation now? Though I think Ben is just playing along looking for a chance to kill Flocke.
With a new protector of the island in place, doesn't FLocke have to start over in trying to kill him? Guess he thinks he can get Ben to do it.
I'm still curious about the timeline of all the occupants on the island. When did the statue builders get there, temple dwellers, Others etc.

One more thing. Why would Locke tell Ben that he's going to destroy the island? He promised Ben he could have the island to himself if he killed everyone for him, So what's Ben's motivation now?

Possibly even before Jacob or his island mother in which case it's sort of pointless to delve into it since it wouldn't stop people from then asking where those people came from and the ones before them and so on and so forth. I mean if you keep going back you'll eventually have to get to the part of the islands origin and I'm pretty sure they'd have no way to explain that mess as it is.

I'm disappointed in the Widmore back story though, all that buildup around him just to kill him off like that... same goes for Alpert[assuming he's dead]. They're just killing people left and right with no reasonable explanation. Why and how did Widmore know what he knows?

Since they're killing off characters in the blink of an eye, just by virtue of not killing them off, I'm going to assume Miles still have a role to play... as does Claire[where is she btw?] 😛

I don't think Ben explicitly asked to have the island. He merely implied/agree with what Locke wanted him to do[kill a few people] which he hasn't yet. He might just be the Ben he's always been, two faced. He's always said one thing and did another. This wouldn't be his first rodeo.

So Jack agrees to give his life to this job of protecting the light but still doesn't ask exactly what it is, why it's so important, what would happen if it's not protected, etc etc. I know the writers won't let him ask these questions because they don't want us, the viewers, to know the answers yet... but it is pretty silly to see these characters going though all this crap and then not ask these questions when they have the chance.

And are we supposed to believe that Kate is innocent like she said to Sawyer? Because from what I saw she did blow up the house with that guy in it, so as far as I'm concerned she killed him.

*cry* I shed tears for my favorite TV show. I'll be watching it tonight with some ice cream in 720p. Glorious, it shall be.

jack has transformed from a man of science to a man of faith.

that was in the original timeline.

As a person that is called a hater, I have to say that it is things liek this that just have to stop. Basically throw logic to the wind and add a new plot device (cave of light) or simply say something that no one could have foreseen because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DEDUCE.

God, Murder She Wrote had more foreseeable conclusions.
