Lost trivia:

I can't remember where I read this, but Smokey's sounds are actually made from the cash receipt maker on NY City taxi cabs (the sound effects the Lost producers use to create the ticka-ticka sounds).

I get all excited everytime I hear this sound as I'm walking on the streets of NY. 😛

i hope so. every episode i keep thinking this will be the case but i'm slowly getting more and more disappointed that all they are going to do is move the plot along for the finale. i wouldn't mind if i knew that after the finale they would post all the answers somewhere or have a show dedicated to answering all the questions but the producers have already stated that they wouldn't be doing that.

The ads that say only 8 more episodes left, are excluding at least the two hour finale.
So tonites episode is actually the first episode of the second half of the season. We've passed the halfway point of the season, excluding the finale.

To me the sound sounds like a roller coaster chain when it is pulling a coaster up the first big hill.
 
At least we might get a break from the modern day stories 🙂 And by the pictures posted on facebook - we'll get a little story about Jacob/MIB as well. 🙂

this. early in the series when they said the smoke was "the islands security system" i had assumed it was mechanical in origin... somehow.
