His vision could be accurate, Charlie has yet to find the switch.

Take note of these three things:

1) The vision is likely accurate, as Desmond was willing to go down and do it in Charlie's stead. Why would Desmond offer that if the vision were any different? Also, he saved Charlie's life already this season when he thought the only way to see Penny was to let Charlie die. If he saved Charlie then and told him what was going on, he's telling the truth now for sure.

2) Charlie's yelling after he got to the sub was possibly what caused those Others with guns to come out at him, and he might not have yelled if Desmond hadn't told him what was going to happen down there. Maybe him knowing what was supposed to happen caused him to be found and now altered his future.

3) On the other hand, Desmond saved Charlie's life last week, altered the "Charlie dying" part of his vision, and the rest of his vision still came true EXACTLY as he had seen it before. It makes sense that the result of everything he saw still happens even though he intervened and told Charlie what was going to happen.

Why do I bother watching.

What is wrong with you? I agree with your criticisms about other episodes, but this episode explained why nobody is hearing them off the island despite Danielle's signal (it's being jammed), told you that Alex does question that Ben is her father, told you why Danielle was taking the dynamite... and what questions do you have from that episode that won't be answered in the next episode? (Charlie's fate, the results of the attacks, etc.)

Not a ton happened in this episode, other than the writers giving Dominic a last shining moment (which is why I'm sure he's a goner). He overcame his fear, became a hero, passed on his legacy, etc. It's setting us up to feel bad when he drowns in the next episode (I'm convinced Desmond's premonition will come true).

From how they described it the cable going to the station is not a power cable, it's simply a tethering line to make sure the station doesn't float away from the island.

Can someone explain something to me though? They're down to three guns? What happened to the freaking arsenal Sawyer hid out in the jungle? There were sniper rifles and a few 50 calibers in the mix, I saw. Those would've been handy for an Others invasion.

i don't think they're down to 3 guns. they only want 3 shooters to stay on the beach though, 1 for each pile of dynamite. they want the rest of the people to be far away from the fight.

if that is a power cable then they shouldn't be able to lift it so easily as cables of these types are quite heavy and not easy to move around with bare hands and the boat is too small to hold it...

one things no one has mentioned, when young ben goes into the forest the first time, the guy with the long hair that he meets, i'm pretty it was Richards, the same RIchards that told Locke about Ben etc, that they're happy with his leadership, i mean the guy that gave locke the file about sawyer. any thoughts??? am i the only one who saw this?

I think it's funny that in the face of insurmountable evidence to the contrary, many people stick to VERY far-fetched theories that constantly turn out to be true.

Naomi being an Other: makes no sense, and would be a MASSIVE coincidence given that we know that Penny is looking for Desmond and was going to be sending someone to the island to find him.

That was heavily discussed in the 3x20 thread I believe. He was identified as Richard with no signs of aging.

Not necessarily. Depends on the current of the ocean.

I think we're over-analyzing when it comes to stuff like that. The writers have done a decent job with details but I'm not sure they would accurately represent the weight of a power cable or how taut a tethering cable might be. It just works better for TV when it's a semi-loose cable that two men can easily handle while maneuvering a boat.

I'm fairly sure they knew about it, the blueprints for it were in one of the binders Sayid Stole from the Flame before locke destroyed it so I'm pretty sure they knew of its existance, just not what it did.

But they say they need another GUN, and that's why the kid gives his gun to them. He doesn't say he'll fire it, he says they can take his gun. They needed another gun, THEN they have the argument about who the third shooter is going to be.

Yes, it was mentioned many times after that episode (search for "Lost 3x20"). He was the person that recruited Juliette. He was the person that "recruited" Ben to the Hostiles. He was the person that gave the files to Locke.

I'll tell you this - and I'm sure of this... he's the most important "Other". Even if he's not openly the leader, he's got more say in what goes on there than Ben does. I think Ben somehow got leadership of the group when he first brought Jacob to them or showed them what Jacob was. Somehow, Ben uses Jacob and his spectre to keep control of everyone. Richard is not happy about him being leader and wants to come back to power. Also, he's been there longer than Ben, so he likely knows more than Ben does. So his friendships with people on the island are stronger than Ben's.

Again, importance is a tough thing to measure, but he's the most important Other in my mind.

Here's a theory: Mikhail, Richard and others were stranded on the island just like the Losties. They were being messed with just like the Losties are now, and so they fought back and won. Richard feels a sympathy for them and realizes that they are where he once was. Mikhail likes being in control on the island, so while he somewhat empathizes with the Losties, he doesn't exactly wish them well.

I also think that Ben gave the Hostiles the information about what the Dharma initiative was doing on the island - at least they think he did. What he actually gave them could have been the truth, or more likely, the truth as it best suited him to be. That's why they held him in such high regard.

Just thought I would mention that Charlie once claimed he couldn't swim. Back in an older episode someone was drowning and Charlie ran and got Jack to help because he told Jack he couldn't swim.

iirc the cable goes to a broadcast tower. I would have just put a stick of dynamite on the cable and blasted it, done.

Not a ton happened.....exactly.

It's not a season opener. It's the episode leading to a season closer.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was answered, but more questions and mysteries arised.

I doubt the SEASON FINALE (caps for a reason) will answer these and the last few episodes' mysteries that keep popping up. It's only a 25 minute show if you cancel out the phucking flashbacks and commercials.

What do you think will be answered in that time without an exponential increase in questions for season 4?

It's almost like you guys work for the producers of lost. This show is turning into a waste of time... like this thread.
