Ben is like the Oracle from the Matrix. He tells people what they need to hear in order for them to get something done, whether it's true or not. I don't even think that Juliette's sister ever had cancer again. I think Ben just told her that story just to get her to stay on the island. He's very good at manipulating people.

But then again, I could be off 100%. That's the beauty of LOST. 🙂

Ya, I thought about that too. I don't see how he can just 'cure' cancer. It's Lost, but even that's stretching it on the mainland. Wondering what Ben promised Juliet this time around. She genuinely just wants off the island, and doesn't look like she cares about what the rest of them do.

Spolier-ish. Was panning channels, saw some Lost interview on some lame entertainment 'news' show, and it appears that one of the main cast members will definately be off'd before the season's end.

There's definitely a strong argument that Ben is just making sh!t up, like curing her sister's cancer...after all, look at how fast he gave orders upon seeing flight 815. And we have no concept of time on the show, so one could say that Juliet's sister's hair was far too long if he had just healed her (instead of her never having gotten sick again)...or it was just a wig. 😛

I'm assuming it was about 2 years later, maybe that much hair is plausible after 2 years?

I don't think Ben cured her cancer either. I think he was just lying about her having cancer in the first place to keep Juliet on the island.

So was Juliet working with Dharma, or did she come afterward? They looked like they were wearing Dharma outfits at one point, but Ben was in charge the whole time? How does all of this tie in with there being a Dharma camp that was attaked(?) by the original island people (Ben?). I could have sworn they were wearing Dharma outfits in one scene when the woman died in the lab, and the outfits looked pretty new. (AND Dharma is apparently still dropping supplies on the island???).

I'm beginning to think the title of the show refers more to the viewers being lost rather than the all of the models who crashed on some island.

ooh. That fits with very nicely with Ben being shocked about having a tumor, which wouldn't make sense if they could cure cancer.

Also everyone from Russo's camp went crazy with some disease...does that have any significance? Plus the "good" survivors who were taken seemed to have been told what was going on, or fed some sort of story, since they weren't flipping out when they saw Jack in the cage a few episodes ago.

Curious, they live in a makeshift camp. Since the others deserted their housing complex, why don't they think of relocating there? Heck, they'll know have a sonic wall to protect them from the island monster/ghost.

Thing is - is Jack really trusting her - or just letting her believe that?

I'm wondering that too...he's not dumb.

I dunno, I would beg to differ.

Jack has been rather dumb and annoying ever since season 2. He's such a pvssy now and trusts anyone and will help anyone.

I was finally ****** happy last night, when after 3 seasons, someone finally asked an other WTF is going on! Too bad Juliette completely raped Sawyer and Sayid and made them look like big babies and didn't tell them squat.

I get the feeling Ben has cancer because the island gave him cancer, for whatever reason, likely because whatever the intelligence behind the island is, whatever brought Locke's father there, doesn't like Ben. I think whatever Ben is doing on the island is disrupting the system, and the island is trying to get rid of him, like when the women die because their bodies reject the babies, I think the island is basically rejecting Ben.

Also, in the first season, Locke came face to face with the smoke monster, which I'm assuming is a defense mechanism of the island itself, but it didn't kill him, which pretty much enforces Ben's idea that somehow Locke is very much tied to the island. Locke is definitely the most appealing to watch on the show IMO, and I hope he gets lots of screen time between now and the end of the season.

I think them moving into the Other's housing is just opening themselves up for a potential attack, and they probably know that, so it's not even an option.

I think the bigger question is where did the Others go now? Hopefully they answer that over the next few episodes.

did they say why she was there or what was going to happen about the spying?

That's the new Lost question.

Answered some questions though. Why Juleit is there. How she got there (I think the sub is a farce, she was drugged and could have been placed there) Still no evidence that hte sub actually ever worked.

In the Jin/Sun ep coming up. You will know why she is there in the first place.

Sawyer and Sayid should have bitch slapped her down.

When she revealed their shaky past, they should have said "Since you know our secrets, we want to know yours!"
Then karate chopped her in the neck!

Judo Chop!!

That was a great scene though, she totally kicked their asses. I enjoyed when she was walking away you could see her gasp/sigh in relief of getting out of that.

Definitely one of the best eps in a long time.

Knowledge is power. Could she be using Bens technique on them ?

No from what I was seeing on other websites. This is how it will be. Episode 19 will not have any flashbacks but the DeGroots will show up in the episode and the finale will be dedicated to Jack. As we are still 4 episodes away, it might still change.

why dedicated to jack? does he die? or did you mean the focus of the last episode is jack.

sorry, i may have read dedicated to jack wrong when i first read your post.

i thought hurley's Gf was going to make some cameos this season? she's dead and all but they said she would be part of the flashbacks...or i just missed them in the Volkswagon episode?
