The one lady was one of the others...and the other was some of the tailies that they took all the way back in season 2!

And Jack's tattoo....

Jack's tattoo contains a 5, two letters BC, and four Chinese characters, which means eagle striking the sky, a sentence in a poem by Mao Zedong.

Take about ratcheting up the intensity of the show! This season reminds me more of season 1 with the twists and turns :D

hell yea! lets hope they keep this up

exactly....

but I do hope that next season is the last, don't drag it out too far. Plus I want a lot of these characters to have happiness...that desmond story line is heart-wrenching

Producers said 6 seasons max....so yea.

i could tell the first blonde lady was an other, but i have never seen her before. a new "other"?

and for the short haired brunette, do you remember what her name is?

well, not necessarily since we know Penny is still looking for Desmond. Think season 2 finale

I'm pretty sure the short haired brunette was in the pilot. She must've been one of the passengers Jack spoke to.

The short haired women, with the dark hair, was the flight attendent. She had a British or Australian accent and she was one of the tailee survivors. She disappeard while the tailees were moving to another area and it was assumed the 'others' got her. Her name was Cindy and she was played by Kimberly Joseph.

Probably one of the most sensitive episodes...nice touch for Valentines Day. And Desmond's acting was also a refreshing change from Jack/Kate/Sawyer - all good actors, but kinda plastic. To think Disney fired Lloyd Braun for greenlighting this series...

I dunno, I thought it was nice to have a Desmond story, but it felt a bit...sporadic at times, all just leading to that whopper of an ending. Still glad to have it back :)

it was back to the future + the matrix + final destination

the old lady with the ring was very Oracle-ish, and Desmond's struggle with free will versus destiny was Neo-ish

I think he can predict the future in flashes like he said or he can predict peoples death like charlies.

it's not that he can predict it per say ...

it's that he has already seen charlie die before, and he's re-living it again, but this time he's not letting charlie die.

He appears to be caught in an "infinite loop" of his life. But he can remember things that happened on the previous iteration which allows him to predict the future in his current iteration. It's just that the memory isn't that clear and he seems to need some external stimulus to jog his memory about what is about to happen.

maybe the whole thing is a flashback. remember in Desmond's "dream sequence" when he was talking with this professor friend at the pub...he said he doesnt remember everything...just bits and pieces of an event he's been thru before. then when he was talking with charlie toward the end, he said he's been remembering bits and pieces ever since he turned the key. thats how he could foresee Locke's speech/the lightning/Charlie drowning. So maybe Desmond has been thru the whole island bit before and now remembering the big bits and pieces as he flashes back.

IMO, the whole point of Desmond's flashback yesterday was to make him realize that no matter what he does, he cant change the final outcome of things

I hate how ABC hypes deaths so crazily. They hyped Boone and Sharons' death so you knew it was coming... I forgot what they did for Eko but here we have it again... February sweeps!
