well we knew anna lucia was gettin offed...I figured chloe would too cause she had the DUI too.....and they said someone would be a traitor, last week, and I had heard that michael was leaving the show as a regular starting next season.....but I didn't see it happening like that.....kinda just seems like the writers threw it together

I say it's just sloppy writing to get rid of characters without having to delve intot he back story or come up with a meaningful way to write them off

They also show Eko falling off a cliff... that makes 3 of the 4 tailies (Bernard remains) that aren't offed. I'm beginning to think that the portion of the plane that survived was supposed to be very specific.... as Bernard won't die because he was in the restroom of the plane, but had a seat in the middle with Rose.
