A new Locke island connection. The home inspection we saw him leaving from, was Sayid's girlfriend from Iraq.

And I wonder if it's Locke's dad that pulled the scam on Sawyer's parents.

Yeah, I didn't notice that either...I was wondering why they seemed to put so much emphasis on her saying "I don't have a husband." Cool.

holy crap seriously? i had no idea. anyone have a screen cap of both of them?

I translated the latin on the blast doors.....these are rough

Hic Sunt Dracones = Here is the Dragon
Credo Nos in Fluctum Eodem Esse = I believe the same flood will devour us
Sursum corda = from the sun-rise or heart of sunrise?something like that
Cogito Ergo Dolito=I think therefore I hurt/suffer??
Ut sit magna, tamen certe lenta ira deorum ist= How great we are, yet still clinging to an angry God
aegrescit medendo= cure my homesickness
Malum consilium quod mutari non potest=arguing/debating can not change evil (malum=evil, or apple).

I dont think the numbers were reset. That caused the supplies to be dropped/launched. Henry released Locke because he knows about the bunkers.

The womans voice and the countdown over the speakers is wierd though because no one event triggered that, it just sort of happened. I like the theory about the stationary bike triggering the lockdown

But I think the computer/numbers and the lockdown are two separate things. It makes sense that if these bunkers represent some type of long term experiment, that it's occupants can sort of delay the replenishment of supplies (by inputting the numbers) until needed (by not inputting the numbers)

But that doesnt accound for the fact that the numbers need to be inputted every 108 mins...whats so special about 108 mins!?!?

arrrggggghhhh *spppluurkkttt*

OH, and I think those supplies are drugged. Just a hunch.

Considering your sig you should have appreciated my post earlier in the thread:
just heard a good one about the numbers.

4 Lou Gehrig
8 Yogi Berra and Bill Dickey
15 Thurman Munson
16 Whitey Ford
23 Don Mattingly
42 Jackie Robinson (all teams retired Jackies number in 1997)

All the numbers are retired NY Yankees uniform numbers.
Did Steinbrenner bring down the plane?

Ha, missed that one.
Personally I think it's probably a coincidence, but who knows? 🙂
Jackie Robinson being retired by all teams is a stretch. There are so many other numbers they could have used that are "Yankees" retired numbers.

Here's a full list of the NYY retired numbers:
1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 23, 32, 37, 42, 44, 49

great, great episode. i missed ep16, so i watched them back to back.

excellent stuff about the Sayid connection, Liviathan.

when Sayid was talking to Henry about confirming everything they found, i knew there was a big "BUT" in there 😀

It makes sense that if these bunkers represent some type of long term experiment, that it's occupants can sort of delay the replenishment of supplies (by inputting the numbers) until needed (by not inputting the numbers)

the only thing about that is that it's backwards. why would you NOT input numbers when you need something. unless that was some kind of emergency recognition....for example if something went wrong with the equipment, the base (where the drop supplies originated from) wouldn't get the signal and realize something might be wrong.

good show... but getting very unrealistic now =(

On the contrary, I think it's getting more realistic. It seems less and less like some mysterious force is at work, and more and more like this is a big experiment being performed.

except for the big cloud of black smoke that appears to be intelligent or controlled.

I don't think the bike triggered anything. Desmond was using the bike in the first episode.

I think the voice comes over when it's time for a supply drop. Desmond was already trained so he went to the right room. The suvirvors had never seen that before so they just thought it was something weird, and then WHAM, doors closing.

maybe in preparation for the supply drop they do the lockdown in order for them not to see where the supplies are coming from. or maybe so they don't land on the people occupying the bunker...they make them stay inside. or something like that.

Question:

How come Locke didn't just crawl through the vents from the beginning?

I mean after assessing his situation and seeing that the blast doors won't open, AND knowing about the vent in the pantry, why didn't he just crawl himself to the other side?

So, the found bases are the Swan, the medical one and anything else?
Is the one that the tailies found a base as well?
