I'm sticking with the whole they're in purgatory thing. Countdown = keeping them there unless they let it run out? I hate and love this show.
 
question for those how are on Lost forums: has anyone freeze framed the orientation video? i there were so many "cuts" in the middle, i'm wondering if there were any images/clue spliced in...

i have a feeling in season 2 there will be an episode about locke where something happens to him that predicts all of this. like he goes to a psychic or something and she says to have faith or something.
