If people think paypal wont draw from a checking account without permission dream on... paypalsucks.com is around for a good reason. They can and eventually will screw you, when I use paypal I make sure I am safe... 2 checking accounts, one my main one for paypal only, paypal being linked to the second one. I get funds, it goes straight into #2 which goes right into #1... lets see them try to take my money. And without overdraft protection my bank will just refuse the withdrawl from my 2nd account, even if I have the money in the first. Ypu have no control over how people pay you.. if they use a stolen card... paypal will come to YOU for the money, and they will take it back, you have a checking account linked, they will go there to try and get the money,

As far as law goes...it was a binding contract, so if you can track the person down, then you have a cause of action against them.

The key is finding the guy/gal you sold the laptop too. If you can find their name, then you are fine and will be able to get your money for the sale.

It's offical, your a certified fool if you actually TRUST paypal. Their don't do it a ton, but it deffinetely happens. Tho its much more common for them to just freeze accounts with thousands in them and steal their money.

Except you're not safer. Paypal will just send the collection agency after you.

My God. I'm going to post the goddamn TOS here. If your bank account is VERIFIED (meaning you did the two deposits to verify that you are the owner of your account) then Paypal CAN do it on your behalf, because that's in the TOS when you VERIFY your account. You can still withdraw money to your account with your account UNVERIFIED. However, because you don't have a TOS, that money (theoritically) should be Ok.

So everyone is right. Goddamn.

:p

I'll post the TOS later and end this...
