Loss in Performance with Overclock...

EVGA 9600GT KO stock clocks were 700/1773/950 clocks are now at 750/1900/1000

i ran 3Dmark06 two days ago with everything at completely stock clock speeds and all... just to get a baseline, well today i decide to start overclocking and after the first run i notice that my SM2.0 score is lower yet my SM3.0/HDR score is higher and my CPU is the exact same...

CPU score seemed correct since i didnt fool with that yet, SM3.0 seemed reasonable but why on earth would SM2.0 go down? is this a glitch or what?

im gonna keep going since my temps havent seemed to go over 55c on the gpu...

couple hundred point variation is somewhat common-at least for me-between runs. Who knows, maybe some background process kicked on in the good ol windows. Try a fresh reboot and disable any process's you can before making runs.

maybe the hidden overclocking feature of the 9600gt is coming into play here. Is it possible that the hidden oc feature is disabled when you manually oc the card??? Do any of our nvidia friends want to comment on this for the record?

That's what I was thinking.

KBTuning: run 3DMark06 at stock again to see if the scores for OCed and non-OCed are reproducible.
