you gotta,

1. exercise
2. give up all the good things you like to eat
3. eat less and in moderation.

I have failed all 3 and am somewhat chubby but not fat :(
when i eat, i eat alot more then i should. I don't know whats wrong with me, i have pig stomach that seem to never stop once I take a bite, its one after another until full. I am often encourage by others to eat as much as possible and i hate that, which lead to abuse. will try once more time to control my eatting habit, because i really am trying to be fit and healthy. everyone like to eat but the most delicious things are the most unhealthy as well, such as cakes, donuts, fried chicken, french fries, and hamburgers that should be avoided as much as possible.
I know someone who's really thin, eats only some bread and milk all day long, i may try taht :)

That sounds like an awful diet.

No pain, no gain. No one said it would be easy, but you will be much happier with yourself if you shed off some pounds.

I did the Slim Fast thing for me. Took me a long time but I ended up losing almost 50 lbs. It would have been quicker if I actually exercised.

What I figured out you have to find something that you know will work for you. Eating less at every meal doesn't really work for me because I'll just get hungry later. Maybe Slim Fast is for you or Weight Watchers, maybe one of those programs will cut it for you.

I have the opposite problem. I can't gain weight for the life of me.

I think my stomach has shrunk. Haven't stepped on a scale for quite some time, but I'm pretty dang skinny. Usually eat one meal a day, if that, and sometimes I can't finish it. Occasionally snack.

Also, I realized the other day that I'm completely out of shape. I used to be able to do a lot more physically. But all this sitting behind a computer screen doesn't do much for my physical endurance.

I remember the good old wrestling days when my weight would fluctuate so much as I had to cut/regain/cut/regain. I don't think that helped me any, even though I didn't wrestle very long.

I started following the weight watchers program (using materials borrowed from a friend) and have lost ten pounds in three weeks so I am already feeling better. You are right about it being hard. I haven't had fried chicken in almost a month, nor cheeseburgers and I have only had fries once or twice.

If you are "somewhat chubby and not fat" and maintaining that weight (not gaining weight), you do not have to change your diet drastically and all at once.

Just start your exercise program, and stick to it. 20-30 miniutes of cardio at your target heart rate 4 days a week and three to four days of weight training.

After a while, a healthy diet will actually become more appealing to you and you'll actually be less hungry because of the exercise you're getting (don't ask me why, but it's true).

I know John's dramatic and quick results were inspiring, but you don't have to be as strict as he was about your diet to succeed. You only need to be strict about the exercise. It will take a little longer, but you'll lose weight as long as you exercise.

Excerising is generally good for all.

But getting the diet right can be difficult...some people can eat half a cow and gain no wait, others can sniff a burger and gain 2lbs...you just need to regulate your diet so you have things you enjoy and healthy stuff mixed together and in just the right moderation to satisfy your hunger but not over do it.

You don't really have to give up the things you like totally just have them less often, and you may find like me that you actually stop eating them anyway...even if presented with the opportunity.

Me neither. To gain weight I have to eat all day long...day after day...and I don't particularly like having that "I'm so fvcking full" stomach feeling. Bah. Guess I have to if I want to gain the weight though.
