I can solve most general computer screw ups on my own, but this one is a real noodle scratcher, guys. When I say losing video card signal I mean that when I try to play most games my monitor goes NO SIGNAL RGB STUFF forcing me to restart. The sound will also die/loop. I had the problem on an old CRT as well as the new LCD flat panel.
Specs:
* AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester 1GHz FSB Socket 939 - Retail
* ABIT AV8 Socket 939 VIA K8T800 Pro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
* x2 Mushkin SP3200 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered System Memory Model 991093 - Retail
* Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST380013AS 80GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM
* XFX PVT43ANDF7 Geforce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail
* COOLER MASTER CAC-T05-WWA Black/Silver Aluminum/Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 350W Power Supply - Retail
Weird facts about the problem:
Battlefield 2 works fine in singleplayer. Monitor dies when attempting multiplayer.
Half-Life 2 doesn't work at all. Counter-Strike: Source works 100% of the time when playing Iceworld. All other maps (except Compound, which works half the time) kill the video signal and crash.
Installing updated video drivers does nothing.
Thanks in advance!
