Im starting up a bowazon I guess you call it.

Anyone know how to get the game to run in a window (windows xp)?

Resolution looks like ass on full screen

Right-click the shortcut to run the game and click Properties
In the target box, add " -w" to the end of it (no quotes)
So it'll look like this:
"C:\program files\blah blah\diablo2.exe" -w

(I'm not at my home pc, so I don't know the exact path)

Thanks that worked great! Unfortunately, it makes the screen so small its harder to control, oh well, I guess Ill deal with the blurry graphics.

If you have an Nvidia card you can go into the control panel and set the card up to do the
scaling instead of the monitor. It made the 640x480 screen look a little better stretched
out to 1280x1024.

Nope, ATI over here. oh well, im sure theres a way to do it but I wont look for it.

Out of curiosity. If I were to theoretically edit my character to some ass kicker and then go online with it, would my account/game get locked? I wouldnt really care to kill other players, just go on group raids or whatever.

Strike that, solution:

"Basically, when you register your game at the Blizzard store, you get a NEW CD-key which is found under "View Game Key" on each title picture. So you don't use the one that is on your case for the digital download.

I am not sure if registering your CD-key invalidates it for use with your CD's if you do this. It probably does so you can't get a free copy."

But hey it only took me 9 years to make 1000 posts 😛

I imagine that is the solution to my problem couple of posts above yours. I can't try it yet as i am in school right now.

I have 2 friends that have used that site spunkz and no problems. I used the chaosprogramming link referred earlier and have had no problems. I installed off the d/l from blizzard. Took about 28 hrs total to get it all d/l for me with 3 different times reauthenticating the d/l, but it works gloriously 🙂

I just ordered a key from chaos programming, lots of people complain about them... But I am hoping nothing bad happens. *Crosses fingers*

Alright, don't order from there.. Very unprofessional and well.. Full of scams, it's a scam. Don't buy from that chaos programming site.

for the people who got their keys from chaosprogramming... how long did it take them to get you a key? been waiting 12 hours (the timeframe they mention) and i still haven't heard anything. that g2buy site always gives me a 403 forbidden everytime i go there.

and wtf's the deal with the d2 battle chest still being like $40?!?! for a game that only runs in 800x600?!? what?!

I got my key at exactly 12 hours from chaosprogramming. The g2buy gives it to you instantly. My chaosprogramming keys are working fine...so far. I had another friend who tried using his last night and it said already in use. About an hour later he was able to use it. Very iffy..but hey for $5 it was worth a shot to remind me of the awesomeness that Diablo 2 was and hopefully Diablo 3 will be.

ya i ended up getting my key from chaosprogramming around 15-18 hours after i ordered. definitely under 24 hours.

put in the keys at the blizz store... started my downloads... and have been playing on battle.net for the past few days.

seemed like it was a scam at first... but they came through. as for the claims of them reselling keys though... i have no idea and that's the one risk i think everyone might take with this company.

Some $5 special going on someone posted in that thread.

I used the link in that thread to buy the $5 D2 + LOD and I got my CDKeys about 2 hours later! I've got Both D2 and LOD downloading now from Blizzard's Digital Downloads! 🙂

You'd think with all the money Blizzard has been making on WoW that they could stop this stupid torrent crap.

Where do these online stores get their diablo 2 keys? Do they buy used keys from players? Do they use a singleplayer keygen and generate thousands of keys and test them all to see which work on battle.net?

This option has been available for ATI cards (x1xxx series and higher) since I think cat 8.3. I use the option to play starcraft. Nvidias version doesn't work for me however.

Its weird. I have noticed a HUGE ressurgence in D2 lately. Now I am re-interested in D2 and must hunt for my cds!

Same here.
It's just that I barely have as much time as I used to and I don't feel like creating an MF character to go through looking for scraps again.

But then again if all one does is MF, where's the fun in that?
