Another reason why LA is the best city in the world.

Like outrageous gangs, illegal immigration, lots of graffiti, freeways that acts as parking lots during rush hour and threats of homes burning up in the fall when the santana winds kick up...

Don't forget the wonderful California property prices.

So how do they test the water from other countries? Fly it over? I would think that wouldn't help the taste too much

Um. Rain water isn't very good for you. It picks up all kinds of crap on it's way down through the atmosphere before it gets to the ground.

Heaven forbid they spend the money used to put on this water tasting contest on say, caner research or something useful.

its filtered between the roof and the cistern, its filtered between the cistern and the water tank, and several of the taps are filtered. plus we occasionally add chlorine or bleach to the cistern to kill bacteria.

Orlando's water was the only water I've tasted that was practically undrinkable.

I'm pretty sure tap water would be > than any homemade rain water

Before moving to SF, I spent my last 3 or so years in Westwood and Santa Monica. For some reason, none of the things you mentioned were a problem for me! Yup, even the freeways. Never drove during rush hour and when I had to, I took surface streets. Worked pretty well actually. But I definitely will be missing the sardine can MUNI trains and the stops signs every 10 feet in SF when I leave...

well - most people have gone to LA at least once in their lives (i've gone there around 6 times now) and have seen almost all of those
i've seen: graffiti
mexicans at home depots and other places
horrible traffic
forest fires

shens...
especially if she marked some as diet
it's not all that hard to taste a difference between colas.

Water isn't supposed to be tasty. That's the farce. Maybe they should have held a "most tasteless water" competition.

you're kidding right? You're telling me your chemical filled water is better for you than rain water?

On top of our water being tasteless, its free. How could it get better?

Does nto matter the best water made, matters the best water when it gets through the pipes and all the way to the outlet. You can put the best water in the system but if the system is old and the pipes have problems then that water turns to junk.

There are some pipes in my house i am replacing as the water taste better from the new pipes then the old, yet its the same water.

He's mostly right, rainwater isn't very pure (e.g. acid rain). But if you're filtering it and using chlorine, you've probably got something about as good as tap water in most locations. The only thing you're missing is fluoride.
