Screenshots and Gameplay footage are from the PS4 version.

It's a bit like a cross between Dark Souls and Dark Siders. I have read the comments of svl (editor) from GameGPU, and he states that to run the game at minimum, you need a 64-bit OS, GPU with 2GB of VRAM and a quad-core CPU based on his preliminary testing or otherwise it's choppy. The game is a cross-platform PS4, XB1, PC title.

Here are the full PC system requirements:
Minimum:
-OS: Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1) or Windows 8 (only 64 bit OSs)
-Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0Ghz
-Memory: 6 GB RAM
-Graphics: GeForce GTX 460 or better
-DirectX: Version 11
-Hard Drive: 25 GB available space
-Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible Sound Card with Latest Drivers

Recommended:
-OS: Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1) or Windows 8 (only 64 bit OSs
-Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 @3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 X8 @ 4 GHz
-Memory: 8 GB RAM

-Graphics: GeForce GTX 560 ti or better
-DirectX: Version 11
-Hard Drive: 25 GB available space
-Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible Sound Card with Latest Drivers

Looks like the era of dual core CPUs is coming to an end quickly. If true, I am happy developers are starting to target quad-cores as the mainstream CPU spec.

These specs actually make sense compared to that AC Unity bullcrap.

Have been interested in this game for a while now.

It looks like its pretty safe to say for the AAA titles from here on out will have i7 listed as a recommended requirement as well.

Due to these new consoles everything about the way they code games is having to change, so in that sense yes dual cores are done for. But in reality a dual core Intel @ 3.6ghz would be a far better platform for gaming than what the PS4 has for a cpu...

from the game-play movie it looks like the fighting tactic is to always run in circles around your enemy. i see there is character development and play style choice, but i didn't quite get the loot aspect of it. if it has a rewarding loot system, it could be a lot of fun. if not, it's just another 3rd person hack'n'slasher, in which case - pass.

Hard to know with action RPGs. They can look great in video, but I'll have to wait for the reviews. I didn't care much for Darksiders, but Dark Souls was great.

Got a chance to try this at EGX, it's a more fancy version of Dark Souls, the controls is virtually the same. Played the section where I ran into a giant armour dude in a tight corridor, so i legged it back the other way into the room with a giant hole in the middle, he chased me and fell into the hole. So you might want to try this tactic if you find him too intimidating.

I'm totally cool with more Dark Souls style games. Darksiders I think I died 2 times when I just didn't know a boss pattern, Dark Souls I think I made it to the next bonfire 2 times without dying 😉

Not sure why but this appeals to me more than Dark Souls.
I am eager to see the reviews. Hopefully it is decent.

the recommended CPU specs are a joke IMO. as with any game, especially console ports, the GPU is going to be far more significant than the CPU.
this game is designed to run 30FPS on a Jaguar+HD7850...

Dark Souls, if its close its good (IMHO) but is it going to play better on a console controller then a mouse /keyboard?

Probably, yes. These kinds of games (3rd person action/adventure) are almost always more suited toward a gamepad than a keyboard.

im also looking forward to this game

being a fan of both dark souls, i cant wait for this game and bloodborne to come out... But i hope this game is able to polish some of the things dark souls did bad like ... the story, picking up stuff, and the clunkyness that DS has everywhere

It was time someone took the great combat mechanics of dark souls and put them in their own game

Yep. I want the mechanics of Dark Souls but at a more realistic pace and with all of other content of full RPG games like full looting, item durability and characteristics, full classless and levelless character progression, full questing, full influence on the gameworld, massive conversation options, emergent gameplay, interacting factions, full needs mechanics, huge open world and more.

Looks like you were right in that the developers provided ver conservative (i.e., too high) CPU requirements. This game is primarily GPU limited.

Crossfire doesn't work with 14.9 drivers.

Loves video memory though and cards below 2GB struggle a lot in this game.

The review says an optimal level of system memory is 6-8GB as with 4GB the game's levels/sections load much slower.

I am playing it now- got it for $37 at GMG = steam download deluxe. It is pretty good - if you can play it. Crashed on me at first. MY PC= i5 2500K, 8 GB RAM, 290 GPU - I had to do a fix which is found in Steam = go into the Steam common file and manually find and activate the directX.exe, also had to update my catalyst driver to 14.9.

It does look very good, I am not used to this type of game so it is a challenge for me. Bosses destroy me = frustrating. You get used to a certain style of killing enemies based on what you have leveled up, and what you good at , but then you come across a Boss and that style fails badly - and you die, die ,die. LOL

IF you check out the discussions on Steam there are a number of people really mad because they bought the game and it just crashes all the time, some cant even get past the initial character set up.

I did not see these discussion before I bought it - as I jumped on the sale at GMG - I don't think I would have bought it if I had known about the issues.

Look at the CPU benchmarks - SNB is 65FPS, Haswell is 81FPS - really think that CPU upgrades don't net FPS anymore? There are one or two other games in 2014 that have the same jump too.

They probably will start to with the switch over to 64 bit game clients and the new consoles being programmed for now being less restrictive.
