Meh, last I heard they weren't even projected to reach hurricane status.

Wake me when the Cat 3-5's come through.

Lots of the South East has had a wet year. It will not take much in The Carolina's and Virginia to make a mess. I keep pretending they are not there but am well stocked in generator gas.

The local weather guy just says that things like this did not happen much. The last time was in the 1930's, about 90 years ago.

That's the real threat, even if wind fields are not too bad. Major rain event for areas already soaked, is never good.

We just got hit with the tail-end of the hurricane up here in CT, mostly got high winds. Lost power for days & lost Internet for almost a week. Trees down everywhere, it was a mess!

Too much water in the east and everything is burning in the west. I had to evacuate my home yesterday and have no idea when I will be able to go back. I know several people with houses in the heavy fire zones that have no idea if they lost everything or not.

I went down to Mexico Beach last month and that area has made remarkable comeback. Houses are being rebuilt better than ever and homes in Mexico Beach looked more upscale now. There were some really nice beachfront homes being rebuilt. Pretty much all with new metal roofs. Probably $1 million plus homes.

What's the most devastating is when someone has beachfront property and the storm surge reshapes solid ground.

I was pier fishing in NC years back and had a local tell me the current beach front property used to be across the street from the beach front property. Erosion can steal people's wealth and dreams...not sure how insurance would work on land being consumed by Ariel's daddy and his damn trident.

Dude it is getting nuts out there again, I just watched some updates. They are so undermanned. I'd seriously rather go through a CAT 4 than have to deal with sweeping wild fires. Scary shit.

Keep movin, be safe. Wish we could send you guys a hurricane.

People always shit on people living near the gulf / east side for living near hurricanes.....

At least we get like... A week+ heads-up to prepare or leave.

I'll take that shit over abrupt wild fires, random tornadoes, or earthquakes.

2 storms could hit at almost same time

I did not have this on my 2020 apocalypse bingo card. Hurricanes yes, two at the same time, no. Could someone turn the difficulty level down on this simulation please? Nightmare mode sucks.
As S. R. Hadden said, why build one when you can build two for twice the price? Maybe it'll give a shower to some of those college students seeking to live in their COVID filth.

Supposedly the latest news I'm hearing is that neither is going to be directly targetting Texas at this point. Both have drastically gone off from what their original course was intended to be:

As predicted by my last post - it looks like it is now being displayed by the more mainstream places showing something similar where TX is mostly unscathed and not going to be the direct hit:
