That brings back bad memories. :disgust:

Strange... DHL always gets my signature here while UPS/FedEx does ninja-style deliveries unless the package was explicitly marked "signature required" which is an extra fee for residential deliveries.

IIRC it is always the responsibility of the shipper to contact the shipping company regarding lost/missing packages, so your first step is to call Outpost.

But, but, but.. you can't speak bad about a shipping company that isn't UPS! That's blasphemy!

well you guys are pretty much stuck with USPS now. Can't remember if anyone ahs ever posted anything abd about them, but we've got the usual UPS Bitch-Fest, the occasional Fed-Ex Whine-a-Thon, and now the rare DHL Complainatarium.

don't forget airbourne express

I think that's DHL here in the US.

Airborn Express became DHL a few years ago.

My only complaint about DHL is all my packages reek of cigarette smoke when I get them. It is kind of annoying but the smell does dissipates after a few days.

Edit sorry for the double post.

I hate that all these companies have switched to DHL. Every package they deliver gets left at my door. I answer the door very quickly, but the DHL guy was back in his truck by the time I got to my door. Another time, the DHL guy didn't ring the bell at all. These idiots don't realize that NYC is NOT the place to be dropping things off by the door. Luckily, I've never lost anything because I tracked the package like a madman online.

I complained to DHL about this, but the only response I got was along the lines of, "Well, the shipper didn't require a signature." Even the USPS guy waits for someone to answer the door before leaving.

I had a similar problem with FedEx. The tracking said that it was delivered and left on the front door, but I was home at the time of delivery and didn't get anything. I called them the next day and they told me that it was reported as delivered to the wrong address and they eventually got it to me after a couple more days. I did think it was stolen at first and good thing it wasn't since it was about $600 worth of computer parts.
