Looks like it’s happening. Trump wants a grand military parade.

Why can’t Cadet Bone Spurs just go visit the troops overseas if he wants to show his respect to the military?

Diversity is fine just as long its liberals getting the benefit. If you want to honor the military with a parade on Veterans Day, we cant have that. Sorry.
Having the parade on Veteran's Day to mark the centenary of the end of WWI was an afterthought. If it had been Trump's original intent, you wouldn't see the disgust for Trump displayed in so many quarters. Trump wants a triumph to celebrate himself.

Show me examples something not being declared good in the name of diversity from the left. Your straw man argument is full of straw.
I don't think the "left" are willing to tolerate the Charlottesville Nazi's in the name of diversity.

Find a place that 1) has American troops stationed and 2) has a Trump property and Trump will be all over that. When Trump Kabul Resort opens, he'll be there to consecrate the hot tub.

The thing about Trump's teeny dick parade is that it would only ever be seen as response to Kim Jung Un's parade. Because of this, I doubt it will ever happen. His handlers will hog-tie him and feed him convenient excuses to explain and blame away why it couldn't happen, that it wasn't his fault but he wanted very much to do it for the people (every dictator's excuse).

Trump making this thing happen would be a complete disaster in terms of optics.

I have a question for those in favor of this idea. Do you think it's appropriate to have a parade while so many soldiers are currently deployed in so many different war zones? Historically this type of thing has only ever been to celebrate the end of hostilities at the close of major conflicts.

Trump, nor his followers care one bit about optics.

They don't, but I think his nannys will manage to keep him in line. Feed him an excuse to lay blame on his staff/democrats for why he can't have his army man party, and his followers will likewise feel vinidcated. It's handing out lolipops to screaming 4 year-olds. The country is "saved," as it were.

GOP Sen. John Kennedy had the perfect response to this.

https://secondnexus.com/news/john-k...2&tse_id=INF_b8d502f00ce211e8b29907daa8112220

“I think confidence is silent and insecurity is loud,” Kennedy told reporters. “America is the most powerful country in all of human history; you don’t need to show it off.”

Kennedy, much like others opposed to the idea, warned that such a spectacle would make the United States look “totalitarian,” and compared it to similar processions held in Russia and North Korea.

“We’re not North Korea, we’re not Russia and we’re not China, and I don’t want to be,” Kennedy said. “And for that reason I would be against flaunting our strength. We don’t need to; everybody knows we have it.”

Yes. Let all political leaders pay for everything themselves. If we want a military at all or welfare benefits for anyone, let Congress use their own personal funds to do it.

Members of congress have not requested a parade, Trump has. He can pay for it

It's not conservatism that makes you stick out darlin'. It would just be too shocking to believe there are two individuals as specifically and profoundly stupid as you. The similarities are just too uncanny to ignore. Also, it's just too sad to think that there are two separate individuals wallowing in Trump's congealed potential offspring in the same exact way. Don't forget, he likes to raw dog it. Your arse will wind up being the blackhole that destroys us all, if Trump doesn't do it first. Keep in mind, he doesn't share well, he's a user, definitely not a gentle lover... Face it, you may as well take the actual form of his special rag a.k.a garbage receptacle.
Eww, pretty over the top descriptions, you must have a lot of experience that I don't have. Bless your heart.

Ike's opinion on this:

https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo...o-stage-military-parade-down-pennsylvania-ave

Beschloss points to the 1950s, when Dwight D. Eisenhower was president and Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev presided over large military parades showing off the latest in Soviet military might. Beschloss says some in the White House approached Eisenhower, himself a decorated military general, suggesting the U.S. do the same, to show off American might.

"Eisenhower said absolutely not, we are the pre-eminent power on Earth," Beschloss says, recalling Eisenhower's response. "For us to try to imitate what the Soviets are doing in Red Square would make us look weak."

Obnoxious shows of strength are ALWAYS weak.

The man who brags of his wealth is terrified that others will find him wanting. The man who brags of his sexual conquests is afraid others will question his virility. The man who brags of his sports achievements is afraid others think him a weakling. The man who prays the loudest is afraid others will see his lack of virtue.

No one ever shows off strength who is not compensating for something. The strong person is confident. The confident person has no need of braggadocio.

The central characteristic of Donald Trump as a President is that he is weak. He lies, brags, and bullies because he is too weak for his job, and on some level he knows that, and overcompensates.

Margaret Thatcher: "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't."

You claimed that because 'the left' applauds some forms of diversity in some contexts, they therefore must believe all diversity is good. This is codswallop. Nobody thinks diversity without limit is a good thing. Show me examples of 'the left' declaring all forms of diversity are good at all times in all contexts.

I'm a bit of a prude. If only your openness to one of the vilest pieces of filth translated to a progressive mindset you'd grrr a choice in the matter, until then you'll continue to have a belly full and be grateful for it. Trump has to unload on someone, it may as well be the conservatives since they're begging for it. And you'd better say YUM while you're at it. I don't know what your experience level was before Trump but you have absolutely graduated to a well used, rough looking, dried up, toothless old whore missing her glory days. Wipe your mouth darling, you're dribbling Trump Junk.

I love how the idea of Trump having a parade is causing those on the left to fill their diapers.
You must or will be the type of father who will give in everytime their 5 year old son stomps his feat because he wants something.

If Trump wants to pay for it out of his own pocket I wouldn't give 2 shits.
