Looks like Diablotek will soon go the way of the dodo.

Only two PSUs listed.
No offerings on Newegg except for a refurb sold by Outlet PC. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA85V4MA7164

Seems like the only thing keeping them alive are cases and leftover units sold at Micro Center.

Good riddance to a scourge on mankind, or at least new DIYers who didn't know any better. I will say this, a LOT of people bought A LOT of Diablotek products before knowledge finally spread to a point where it was understood why a Diablotek is bad and should not be purchased. Namely, the power supply does not deliver advertised wattage and the power that is delivered is out of the ATX spec.

I didn't even know there is such a brand. They look pretty bad to me. Before Corsair I bought Seasonic, Cooler Master or Thermaltake. Now it is either Corsair, Seasonic or EVGA.

Good riddance! It's a lot easier choosing a "Good" PSU these days, for the most part. Many decent-quality brands to choose from.

Still, there are those to avoid: Apevia, LogiSys, iMicro, etc. RaidMax used to be in that group, but they've been moving up-market a bit. They even have an 80Plus Titanium PSU (for a hefty price) now! That would have been unheard of for the RaidMax of the past.

But they were a major stumbling block for LOTS of buyers back in the because of the attractive price, slick marketing, aggressive and perhaps excessive FUD about PSUs in OEM systems. Cheap OEM systems like eMachines(now dead), yes, would be like Diablotek in term of PSU. Higher end, nope. And even mid grade, they might die sooner, but they can at least deliver the specs when new. In fact, those rare lucky buyers who still have one running STILL probably think they got "great value" and that all a PSU does is turn things on. never mind that they also should "die quietly".

Due to the nature of how PSU works, lots of people go "if it turns on, it's a ok". And like this reviewer, he applies "Land Rover logic" to STILL giving it a four-star rating even though it lasted only one year. https://www.amazon.com/review/R5PKO...odeID=172282&store=electronics#wasThisHelpful

I suppose one can pick up a Gold or that Titanium Raidmax, but their Bronze units...well... Let's just say two of them turned out to not pass the bronze spec in the end. Although, they did deliver the advertised wattage.

Although, mediocre-at-best do populate the Vampire 1000 watt unit. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?289819-Raidmax-Vampire-RX-1000GH.

It is "safer" these days, yes. But people are too simple minded to be counted on to real even bother to care beyond a one line rule in terms of navigating the PSU landscape. Those who follow a rule of "quality only" will be safe. But those "price shoppers" out there will still keep on rolling on that logic until something catastrophic happens, and even then, they might still do it. Remember, not everyone has the time or the ability to get a intuition about how a PSU works or have the willingness to Ebay used quality parts instead new garbage parts. Ebaying used quality first requires knowledge of what is quality.

Logisys is still moving inventory on Newegg.

887 reviews. That's a lot of reviews, and certain MANY MORE buyers who didn't review it.

I remember reading a review somewhere that Raidmax had a Gold unit that was not certified by 80 plus organization, but they touted it anyway, and the unit did not do that well during the review. I don't remember which unit it was, but shady practice like that gives me pause about a company. Plus like they say, if it is too cheap to be true, it is too cheap to be true. I will pass on Raidmax. I would rather get Thermaltake or Cooler Master or mid-level build if I need to.

From what I can see now, Logisys is just like Diablotek. Might be using the same OEM too :D

Wow just read that AMZN review - $30 to power it for 1 year is a good deal. How about $100 to power it for 10 years? EVGA warranty on many G2 or P2 is now 10 years. Plus they output very stable voltages for all rails. I would rather do that.

Actually have a Diablotek case as a spare from a retired build at the office. Worth the $10 I paid for it new :)
Won't touch their PSUs though.
