You'd rather have McBride, who wants smaller class sizes..but doesn't know where he's going to get money for it? $330 million from a cigarette tax...but it's going to cost a bit more than that. The moderator in the last gubernatorial debate was questioning him on this..apparently he couldn't come up with a clear answer.

Why don't you just rally up the entire State you reside in, and ya'll can ALL move up there.... WAY up there! Arctic Circle would be just fine... :)

It didn't really surprise me, Bush had a 5-10% lead in the pre-polls. The margin is bigger than I expected, but FL is by and large a conservative state with patches of liberal voters (mainly in S. FL).

On the proposed amendments, I was a little surprised to see that the 2nd hand smoking amendment won. I think this means smoking is banned indoors at all restaurants (still allowed at outside seating). The death penalty amendment predictably won, support always goes up if you execute a couple right before elections, as Jeb did. Interesting that the class size reduction issue is leading even though McBride is clearly losing.

That's right. The U.S. Supreme Court hasn't heard the Dem arguments about why the elections were flawed yet.

Smoking is still permitted in bars, designated tobacco establishments (smoke shops? I don't know...heh), and outdoor seating, IIRC.

I voted against class size reduction. Smaller class sizes = more money. Where is it coming from? More taxes = bad. Reducing other agencies' funding = bad...so...hmm.

I barely got my absentee ballot in time (Manatee County, FL)

I voted for:

Jeb Bush, yay, he won!

Cigarrette ban - I don't smoke and I don't want my contacts to keep sticking to my eyes when I'm bowling or eating, finally - majority right for clean air

Against limiting class sizes - where the hell do we pay for that (besides I support our private schools)

Against cruelty to animals pig thing - who cares about pregnant pigs when they're just gonna be killed anyway (my parents voted against mine on that one)

State-wide pre-school - there's a time for parents to raise their kids, besides, where do we get the money?

Yea, I'm pretty Republican... but I'd so love to legalize marijuana.

That doesn't surprise me. Seems Republicans are getting more and more popular. I sure as hell won't vote for them but the top 1% and the other 60% of Americans who are ignorant will.

Yeah all those dumb idiots who want to keep the money they earn and thus keep their freedom.

Of course they may not realize republicans will only toss them a small bone once in a while. And truth be told the Rs like to spend their money nearly as much as the democrats.

I think Jeb has done a good job for us so far. He managed to lower personal property taxes and we got jailbirds serving more of their time along with some school improvements.

Now if we could get Cuba to annex South Florida this would be a great state.
