Only marginally better then a 5950... ouch
Sorry if it's a repost. Anyway, looks like the X800 Pro's extra clock speed really helps.

Then again it is quite a bit better in some tests such as FarCry once u crank up the resolution, stiill, i expected better out of that card :/ The call of duty framerates r kinda sad, u would think 12 pipes with not significantly lowered speeds on the core or memory would not fall to 1/2 the performance in an opengl game.
Isn't it ALreaDY priced less than $300?Originally posted by: GeneralGrievous
I really hope nobody buys this card until it drops to around the $250 price point. Had they included the 9800 Pro, it would have matched the 6800 in several benches.

Nice find. LinkThis card is in stock and $235 at Galaxy3000, rated 8.5 on reseller ratings. At that price, I don't see how you can go wrong with it.

At $235, it looks like a smart buy over a $210 9800P. It's faster overall (and competes well with the X800P--puzzlingly so in some cases), plus you get nicer texture filtering, SSAA for older games, and SM3.0 "just in case."
Does NVN have the patch/mod, or are you just saying? The 6800GT is (way) out of this thread's league, though ($235 vs. $400+).The review I am waiting to see is the nvnews review of the BFG Tech 6800GT OC and 6800Ultra OC. It will also feature Far Cry with the SM.30 patch which should be very interesting.

... and it's $200 less than the 5950 as well as much faster in some apps.. so what's your point?
