A coworker sent me this. Not sure on the quality or the website but it looks nice and compact, plus 3x optical zoom! I guess if you don't have a digicam, this might be a good start?

EDIT: Price has been raised at Onecall now, but read through this thread if still interested. People have mentioned a possible PM opportunity.

Sorry I haven't really kept up on this thread!

Thanks, nebula, and the rest for all the information. I ordered mine, after a very quick and helpful call to onecall.com. It's in stock and will ship today.

Anyone know how this camera compares to the Fuji A210 that is $159 without any rebates from buy.com?

Glad to see that some people are finding value in this deal! I really can't see how you could go wrong with this for the features you get, unless you already have a cam with these features!

What's the deal here with the rebate? After checking www.samsungcamerausa.com to find a different copy of the rebate, I was directed to here. After clicking to see the rebate, it shows the same picture as the one posted. However, under "Receive: By mail a check for $20.00." What's up with that? I called Samsung, but they had already closed. Anyone else worried/confused about this?

Looks great!

This uses non-rechargeable batteries.

Does anyone know if there is a charger pack for this camera?

Why isn't this camera sold anywhere else (or very many other places)? BestBuy and the other big stores don't sell it. Is it an older model I guess?

Hello! This is Brenden, who am I speaking with today?
hello, this is Tony
I am confused about the rebate for the samsung Digimax V3 digital camera
What is it that you are confused about?
your rebate specifies $50, upon closer inspection found on samsungs website http://www.samsungcamerausa.com/Camera/promotion/promotion06.asp
if you click on the link to print and view the certificate, it says somthing about receiving $20
Must be a typo, it says right at the top of that page $Samsung Camera $50 Rebate Offer
We have the Samsung rebate form on our website, and it correctly states $50
ok, just wanted to clarify, thanks Brenden
Anything else I can help you with Tony?
thats it, thanks for your time
Thank you for using our Live Chat! Have a nice day! -Brenden

Yep it does. So I'd use NiMH rechargables with this if it were me.

I couldn't find much info on the web about it either. So I thought it was either an older model or a newer one! ;)

The lens is a first rate Schnieder product. If you look on Samsung's website this and the Digimax V4 are listed as new models. If I didn't just get a new camera, I would pounce on this. For the price it can not be beat, IMHO.
