I've heard 3rd quarter of this year, Intel will introduce some new parts, do a price cut on the q9650, and make the q9450 EOL. Can body confirm that? Itching to get a 45nm quadcore but I guess I can wait 2 months and see how the prices settle.

Actually, the price will be the same on the QX9650. They're just going to introduce the Q9650, which will run @ the same stock speed as the QX9650, but without the unlocked multiplier. It's price was supposed to be ~$500-550 each, in lots of 1000, IIRC.

"make the q9450 EOL"? What's that mean? That chip was just dropped, and it and the q6600 represent their best bang-for-buck among the quads, imo.
