I've used a 650TI for 1680 and it played just fine. BF4 on high was very doable and the 750 is quite a bit faster still.

I vote to upgrade the monitor. No reason in this day and age to be living at that resolution and monitor upgrades last for years. When my smartphone has a higher resolution than your gaming monitor, its time to move on.

That may be true, but so far I have no complains about my monitor. It's lasted me for eight years and I'm still really happy with it. I'm excited for a new video card and I'm thinking an SSD would be sweet too.

Anyone know if the 760 goes on sale very regularly? I'm looking at about $300+tax and shipping right now to buy it.

I would suggest you go with a lower model, like a 750Ti, which would run ~$200 for a 2GB version with tax and shipping in the US (not sure in Canada). Alternately there are still some 2GB 660's out there that are slightly faster for under $200.

With the $250 you would save, you can get a very nice SSD, probably the 256GB variety. With the monitor you have, or even a 1920x1080 monitor, you aren't really going to notice the 750Ti vs a 760 - particularly if you aren't an hardcore gamer.

The SSD though - that you will notice in everything you do.

The 760 is quite a lot faster than either the 750TI or the 750. Will see you further into the future and allow you to play with higher details.

There's not much else to say really. I have a couple SATA hard drives in there. The RAM is 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1866 MHz 9-10-9-27. I turns out I have a 600w FSP power supply.

I don't. Look where the O.P. is coming from. Look at the one game he mentioned. Look at the resolution he's going to be playing at. We're not talking about you. I really don't think the guy needs too spend very much to be completely bowled over by the improvement.

I game at the same res with a 670 and it's just about comfortable playing things maxed out. He mentioned he wants to be able to play games on high setting. why settle for less?

Get a cheap 265 and a ssd. Don't listen to these people recommending $200+ video cards at that resolution. I played every game on my nvidia 460 with that resolution.
