Looking to make the CRT to LCD upgrade

Hello, I've read through the LCD Buyer's Guide, very good info there. I currently have and have had for at least 5 years now a 17" Envision monitor. I want to upgrade for the bigger screen, more deskspace and it will be easier on my eyes.

I normally always purchase computer parts online, especially if I'm building a PC. However I saw this LG at Best Buy and it looks pretty nice. Has anyone had any experience with it or heard anything about it? I noticed the high contrast ratio, but I've heard that those numbers can be blown up.

I plan to use this monitor for gaming, browsing the web and of course working on papers. I'd like to get one that has a DVI input and it has to be 19". I've heard great things about the Samsung 940B as well. How about the Viewsonic VX922?

LG and Viewsonic are pretty nice(I've had both in the past)

viewsonic you showed definatley,

i have a samsung 915N which is almost dvi vesrion of the samsung you showed, and its nice and fast, but that viewsonic will be much nicer

After years of obsessing over details and learning, learning, learning, I ordered the VX922 last week. It arrived today and I am way impressed! If you read the 180+ reviews on NewEgg you'll learn everything there is to know on the user-end about this monitor. I am in love with the clear, bright picture and the range of colors to my eyes is exactly the same as my 17" CRT which I had for years. No matter what I try I can see no ghosting. Text is clear and again looks just like my CRT.

The one funny thing is that this monitor is so big and bright that I can now see all the imperfections in the *glasses* I wear on my nose!!

My only regret is that I bought this for $359 + $12 Fedex 2-day,
and today NewEgg dropped it to $329 including UPS shipping!
