Looking to join the team

Hi all, Im new to Anand. I joined cuz my brother said i can join a massive SETI team if i just asked. Im currently running SETI and have 12 data units completed, and my total computer time is 353 hrs 46 min 38.4 sec. Lemme know whats going on.

Im running a

Chip : 1.4 gig AMD Tbird
Mobo : ECS K7s5a vers 3.x w/ lan
Mem : 256 mb sdram
vid card : Geforce2 400
ISP : Comcast cable

Welcome aboard. 🙂 Definitely switch over to the CLI, it will speed things up immensely. I think I processed 83 WUs with the screensaver before I discovered Team AnandTech SETI, and was introduced to the CLI version by them. 🙂

Btw with the CLi you should get WU times of about 5-5.5hrs on that 1.4GHz Tbird🙂

Welcome, please ask around if you have any questions at all.

Others have mentioned the CLI client, it seems you must be running the GUI Screensaver seti client with an average time per unit of almost 30 hours.
With that rig you should be getting a WU done in no more that 6 hours would be my guess, so your next 12 WU's should only take about 70 hours - once you get things optimized.

Like I said, feel free to seek help here, there's lots of it and lots of us that are willing and in fact want to.

An optimised GUI client (blank screened or minimsed) would do WU's in about 8hrs or so,you can see that even then the CLI is faster.🙂
