Like the title says. I've been away from the hardware scene for a while and am not sure which chipsets are favorable and so on. Don't want onboard sound/video, doesn't have to have raid, would like decent overclocking.
Gonna put a 2400 xp and a ti4600 in it.

thanks guys

Whether or not you use it is up to you entirely but it seems like ALL motherboards are coming with onboard sound nowadays.

Take a look at THIS motherboard. It's hard to beat an NF7-S R2 at that price.

Awesome board for the money, if one doesn't need/want firewire, SATA, gigabit ethernet, etc. If you only want great performance and stability, the AN35N Ultra 400 should be first on your list.

Check out the Asus A7N8X. There are two of these running in my house (one deluxe, one non), and they both are running great. Plus, it has gotten tons of recognition within the industry.

As you can probably tell from all the recommendations, the nForce2 chipset is the way to go for Athlon XP motherboards. The nForce2 is high performing and mature chipset at this point. I would be willing to bet that any nForce 2 board from a reputable manufacturer will probably suit your needs.

another vote for the nf7...i'm running the non -s version, but i believe the only differences are firewire and sata. however, i really like the board and am running an athlon 2500+ oc'd to 3200+..and i didn't have to tweak voltages or anything..
