the panasonic tau is all setup in my living room. It was $247 after tax and my discount/raincheck

at first the colors were all off..and I was like Oh Shit!!

but then I realized I was still running my RF modulator to everything, and everyone knows RF connections suck ass...so I got some 24k gold svideo cables and it is SUPER SWEET!!!
Did you say "raincheck" ? What's the raincheck for?
I'm hip to the whole raincheck deal.... I just didn't know there was one to apply to this TV....

Please clarify what raincheck you speak of

thanks

Do yourself a favor and pick up a video calibration disc like Avia or Video Essentials. The picture quality will be even better after a bit of calibration.

my store was out of Toshiba 27" Tv (DPCI#008-08-0133)

it is on price cut for 14% off its normal price. Because it is out of stock, I was allowed to take 14% off of the TV I purchased. Coupled with my 10% employee discount. It makes me a very happy camper!

by the way, the above methods of using the raincheck system are perfectly legal as long as the item is truly out of stock

I have a 27" WEGA in transit to me through one of the unmentionable deals....should i try to sell it and get the panasonic? 🙂 how do they compare?

did you get it through FFS.com? If yes, how long did it take them to authorize your R(s) after you get all 8? And how long does it take them to ship one to you after you order it? 🙂 Thanks.

Yeah, i did. It took me approx 2 weeks to get all the referrals, and they authorized them in 2 days. Once I placed the order it took 4 days in processing and 3 between "sent to vendor" and "shipped."

Sweet. I may sell this back (dunno how though, its heavy so shipping would take $$$ and I don't know how to sell it locally as I am not in a major city) ... it's $399 at most places. I may sell this and buy a 30-35" HDTV. Do you know how much this TV weighs?

It's like 100-110 lbs. Pretty heavy🙂 just make sure its not damaged on delivery - sony will replace it, but its better to avoid the hassle

I am looking at selling my 47" and getting the biggest possible tube TV
considering a 36" Sony right now..not many places have 36" flatscreens around here..

TAU's are so nice though.. good buy for sure.
