I am looking to replace the CPU/MB/VID on my current system. I am considering a AMD 3500+ Venice, an Asus MB and a 6800 GT video card. I currently have 2x 512MB Corsair DDR433 2-3-3 Ram that I believe would still be useable in a new system. Is that a correct assumption?

What I need is advice for best combination of components that are cool and quiet. I NEED the MB to have a passively cooled northbridge. So, is a Venice chip the way to go? Are there good Nforce 4 motherboards, preferably from Asus, that are passively cooled? What about quiet 6800 GTs?

Quiet compared to what? The Venice 3500 is the way to go for high-performance without the heat.
The Ram should work, but check the Corsair site by the future MB to be sure.

The ASUS A8V Deluxe looks like it is passively cooled.

You need to search these and other forums for a quiet 6800GT.

How are your case fans and power supply?

In any case, you can buy a passive cooler and replace the NB fan for very cheap, and it is easy- even I did it!
