Looking to buy OCZ GameXstream

Anyone have other suggestions? the fans on my PSU are dieing and i figure it'd cost 20 bux to replace those with the hassle of cutting wires,, i might as well buy a new PSU. cuz it was only 45 bux when i bought it.

i bought the GameStreamX 600w.. haven't had any problems with it. use it to run x1900xtx and OC my Pentium D 805 to 4.01Ghz.. my advice would be to get nothing any smaller that a 600w psu if you are a big gamer and like to upgrade. I got my OCZ Gamestream from newegg.com, they often have rebates on OCZ stuff.

I found this 550w Muskin on Newegg for $85. It's got dual 20A +12v and modular cabling. It's not 700w, but I don't know how much wattage you need.

I have a somewhat similar system as you and my UPS shows it pulling a measly 230W on full load (when the PSU's efficiency is taken into account). That being said, the 600W Gamexstream is a great one especially for the prices it's going at these days.

Thats a cool PSU. If you dont have to have all the cables dangling around in you'r case. You just plug in the ones you need. (ive never seen one like this before =)

Really? There are a lot of them around. The only thing I don't like about that one is that it has like four cables you can't take off. But it's 550w, awesome rails, and is $85, so that shouldn't matter a lot.

I'm pretty good at the whole clean case thing. so modular psu isn't a must, I just want one that will NOT die on me in a year,, and I was also a little concerned about my x1900xtx drawing 35Amps in ATI TOOL. which i know my current psu doesn't have, it still works in my hours of gameing though.. figures.. so i guess i will be getting the gamerxtream,, thx for all ur tipss.

I think that's 35A at 1.425V or whatever the core actually uses, not the load on the 12V rail.

My OCZ PowerStream has been the best PSU I've ever had. It has adjustable voltages that can go 10% over the rated values with a turn of a nob. My only complaint is that I can't turn the LED on the fan off (it looks really cool but is hard to sleep with in a dorm) but I'm going to open it up and install a switch; otherwise it's perfect.

Mushkin??? Anything over that costs $90+ need to have APFC before I even look at it.

I think I may go with a seasonic PSu next time. I built a system with a OCZ and it was somewhat loud considering I was going for a quiet rig.

It probably is stealing amps from another 12V rail if you have a dual rail PSU. Otherwise, it may be running overspec.
