Looking to Buy New Sound Card

I want to buy a new sound card that supports optical out and is for pci. But my major requirement is the best vista x64 drivers. I have heard creative has had bad vista drivers but I do not know if that has changed. I was wondering if anyone can help me choose one. I am trying to sift through the newegg options but I have no idea what are the real important ones to look at. I currently have a 5.1 onkyo system that it will hook into. I am looking for the best audio I can get out of the card so no real price range. If anyone needs anymore info please let me know and I appreciate your help.

Hey Blain I was looking at the striker and also some x-fi cards. Should I be overly concerned with the snr of these cards? I saw that the snr of the x-fi cards is a little higher I believe then the striker. I am because I am not that familiar with the tech specs of sound cards.

I was doing some research and I guess the x-fi drivers are better then the audigy ones so it made me 2nd guess if I should go with one but as I am looking more into it I believe that the HT Omega cards are a better choice for me. But with those HT Omega choices would the snr play a significant role in the choice or should it atleast?

Get an X-Fi and modify it per this PAGE!

Just do the main opamp and the power capacitor.
