Looking to buy Mother/CPU combo off Price watch

I'm looking to buy a ECS Mother board with an AMD T-Bird 1 Ghz processor off of pricewatch.com. My target price rage is $125-$150. Does anyone have a recommendation for which vendor I should choose? I want a reliable vendor that will get my order out the door with no hassles and with a good return policy if any of the components are bad.

Sometimes I get suckered into buying from a vendor I've never heard of simply because they have the lowest price I can find....Time and time again though I realize that 90% of them are inferior to Newegg, who I go to for most computer hardware I buy. I would highly suggest Newegg... don't get suckered by some places rock bottom price on one specific item.

Here are some vendors I will never use (again):

www.tcwo.com (don't email confirmation of shipment until days after your order... took 1 1/2 weeks to get item)
www.atacom.com (charged restocking fee on a DOA board that I had RMA'd...would not crossship, had to reorder item)
www.ubid.com (will rape you on shipping charges... way too many people overbid on items)
www.pcprogress.com (average prices, decent selection... but ONE guy answers phone for tech support.. line was busy for hours)
www.tccomputers.com (those prices are a joke right?)

well I could go on but I really haven't wasted my time with too many vendors, everytime I try someone other than Newegg I find out why I go through Newegg in the first place. Sorry I know I sound like a commercial... and Newegg is not perfect, but they're about as good as I can imagine an online vendor being.

I also recommend newegg. I buy stuff from them about once every 2 months, and have had no problems. I wouldn't buy a combo. Buy components individually, or just get a retail boxed cpu for the warranty. Sometimes the dealer will discount a combo a few dollars to get rid of old inventory. You don't save that much.

I suggest Newegg as well. I also suggest not buying a combo (Newegg doesn't sell combos anyway) - you get an OEM CPU with a VERY limited warranty (usually 30 days max), but if you get a retail CPU, you get up to a 3 year warranty. Plus, you will usually get the latest revision of the motherboard if you buy it separately.

I usuallygo to pricewatch to check prices, then check locally first . If I can't get what I want locally for the prie close to pricewatch, I go to www.Newegg.com or www.mwave.com . BTW- I wish Newegg would do a better job of disounting S&H on multiple item orders .

Resellerratings isn't back up yet but will be soon.

Anandtech has a review also right here.

I would also turn to newegg first, if not there try mwave.com.

Another vote for newegg. You may be able to save $4-5 somewhere else, but I pay the few $$$$ more (they still have better prices than most) & deal with newegg. I have had to return a couple things & have no hassle. Shipping prices are somewhat reasonible. They usually get your stuff out to you in less than a week.
