Looking to buy a TV for a gift this year

Hello. What is the latest in technology these days. Last TV I bought was an LG with an IPS panel ~ 4-500$

Holiday Budget: 4-600$ MAX
Size: between 42-50"

What else do you need to know in order to help me out?

Thanks!

I am going to assume if the TV was actually refered to as an ISP panel when you got it then you shelled out some serious $$ for it at the time.

I guess you only really need to decide on 3D or not. Most everything will be 1080p in that class, plasma or LED. Find a model in your price range, find some reviews on that model and then whip out the ole' VISA.

This is the tv I bought a few yrs ago. Spent somewhere between 4,5 or 600$ at the time.. not sure,, dont' think it was 600$ :hmm:

What are some of the things i need to look out for. I don't want to be sold on marketing terms that don't mean crap.

Remember you need to have good light control in whichever room you're putting it in if you're getting a plasma. Most plasmas, this one included, have a high gloss screen so it's not too hard to get annoying screen glare.
