looking to buy a new plamsa/lcd tv-$2300-2500 budget

What should we get? I've read reviews all over the place and all it does is make me more confused...The budget is pretty flexible but we would like to keep it under 2500 including extras such as extended warrenties(the one additional extra)

We're also planning on using it as a computer monitor if its possible.

What kind of environment are you putting it in?

I'm pro-projector if you have a suitable viewing environment.

A Panasonic AE700 would fit into your budget.

What are you retarded? Why would anyone buy a monitor with a resolution of 1024X768? 1. It's not even HD 2. Imagine taking a 1024X768 image and stretching the sh!t outta it so that it would perfecly comform and fill the space of a Dell 2405FPW monitor.

um....yes it is....

720P is HD. On many sets this has been the max progressive scan image that could be displayed. We are just now starting to see 1080p's trickle in...

Sorry but 1024X768 is NOT 720P. 720P is 1280X720....

Why do you ask? I guess I can wait a while but probably no more than two months...

In general, the longer you wait, the better you can buy for your money (or the less you'll spend for equivalent quality). We're now in Sept, and we should see a drop as Christmas approaches. If you could delay a bit, it'll probably be worth your while.

Panasonic 42" EDTV - trust me on this.

I have it and am loving it. I've heard nothing bad about it.

Reviews show that the quality of this (consider it the high end EDTV) is better than low end HDTV screens.

didn't say it was 720p. All I said is that it is HD. And it will not cause your image to be distorted. Read up on overscan and such. That is standard resolition for most plasma's.

Um, yes you did. It's in the quote and you can't deny it...

I will explain this to you. I said 720p was HD. Anything greater than that...is still HD. No if's and's of but's about it. You said this display was not HD. Well...it is! Without a doubt. If a TV can display greater than 720 progressive lines of resolution...its HD. I didn't say the set was natively 720p. I said thats what HD is and this set can display that, making it HD.

Your second suggestion that his picture will appear stretched out is also completely false. The TV will display his picture in a native resolution or a scaled version of that native resolution unless the user WANTS to stretch the image.

#1. That is the native resolution of most 42" HD Plasmas.
#2. There is no plasma with a full native HD resolution in his price range.
#3. You're the one who's retarded and ignorant too.
