Goldern tiger: Thanks for the guide. That is just what I needed to start my first system. All the work you have done is awesome. Thanks again

Golden Tiger, you obviously put a lot of time and effort into that site and I just wanted to commend you. There are a lot of folks out there just starting out in the PC world, so to speak, and info like this does a world of good to help the newer folks get started. Thanks again and just ignore the wi$e-a$$es!😉

Thanks for the great info. I found out about the Hot Deals forum only a short time ago, but it has really helped me out. Your info is the icing on the cake! Pretty quick here I'll be taking the plunge and building my first computer. As a newbie, I'm finding that learning curve pretty steep in figuring out what components get the most "bang for the buck" and what components will/won't work together. Your info really helps, thanks.

im sorry, but that is the most butt-ugly website i have ever seen.
i am about ready to claw out my eyes.
change the background and text color, its too hard to read.
good info though.

GoldenTiger, hey nice job on your site. It's gotten a whole lot better since you posted this thread. If you ever need some help with it let me know (like the aesthetics), I'll be more than happy to help out. (I was thinking about putting together something like that, but no time. 🙁 ) Keep up the good work!!! 🙂

That background REALLY makes it difficult to read text. I'd prefer black text on white background any day. Information isn't very useful if you can't read it. Maybe you could use that same background but just as a border and have the text on a solid color background in a frame in the middle or something.

Hey Nice site! Good Info and all.

BUT I highly advise (as others have stated)that you change the background...

How about a black background with white text or
white or light colored bckground with Black text.

It would make it a lot easier to read...especially since I am using a laptop right now...can't hardly view without "straining" my eyes....

Good Luck with it!

Nice job GoldenTiger.

I've made many of the same choices you have in building a somewhat beefier and more expensive computer. It DOES take a lot of work to compile all the good deals.

One quibble. I'd get the CPU from one of the pricewatch places with decent reviews, rather than wasting a buy.com coupon on that -- which still comes in expensive.

Also, I think you've got to go with a KT133A based mobo -- a 133fsb job -- if buying now or soon, for future palomino and other upgradeability.

Good job though!!

Awesome Job! Although I am not in the market for a new computer (well I am, but my wife's not so I guess I'm not either), this may come in handy for some friends.

Thanks again.

Ouch, maybe we could change the green text color to something more percieveable? And that wavy background isn't helping to concentrate 🙂 Sorry to be so critical. It is my job as an FBI agent.
