I need a Y adapter in order to use my headset with my Sager 8887 notebook. A basic description is that the male end that plugs into the computer resembles a stereo headphone plug. The two female ends are different; one has a stereo input for headphones, and the other has a mono input for a microphone.

I found out that this is a standard item in all Sager 888x notebooks, but I had never recieved one and they are telling me that they want $15.00 for the adapter. Well, being the "thrifty" guy that I am, and quite upset that they won't send it to me free of charge since I payed over $2,000 for the friggin notebook anyway, I am looking to see if there is a cheaper cable around. I haven't had much luck searching for one. Radio Shack is about the only place nearby for me to search and I found no luck there either.

Anyone seen a cable like this? If so, leave me a link.

Thanks,

Allen

The headphone one is an output, FYI. Since the laptop's jack is some odd multi-conductor setup (for in + out) instead of just stereo in or out I think you're going to have to pay them. The y-adapters I've seen are all to split 1 stereo out into 2 "copies" of the same out, for using 2 headphones at once -- these won't do what you need.

Thanks for the reply Dave.

Anyone else any info on where I might have better luck finding this?

I only have a vaque idea of what you're talking about. Now, first, headphone input makse no sense. This going to be a custom cable, you wont find it anywhere but from sager.
