im looking for a particular software that will allow me to find wireless hotspots. I've used net stumbler, but it's not as clear as pinpointing me the exact or closeby location of any hotspots. I've heard of aironet, but i found out that it's a cisco network product. Is there a hotspot locater software called aironet?? Can someone give me a link to the actual place where I can find it. Or if you know a similar product please let me know. Thank you

You want something that PINPOINTS the wireless access point?? this is a WAP, not a GPS...or did I misunderstand your needs?

Netstumbler only shows you the access points that are within range of your wireless adapter. IF you move around, like driving down a street, it will record all the access points it comes across as you go.

I too am confused as to what you really want to do. If you want to find a public hotspot, then I don't think any software will tell you where it is. Maybe some nearby coffee shops will have them, or you could dig around online.

Use 2 computers and triangulate the signal.
too bad WAP isnt directional

if you use shielding on one side of the antenna, you can make it directional.

Not really. And anyways, what does this have to do with the OP's question?!
