I read in a post here a couple months ago (and now I can't find it) that lapping a Core 2 Duo could cause the chip to fail over time. Can't remember the reason behind the failure. Have you heard this b4?
I was just ready to lap mine, until I read that. I'm sure though that there are plenty of enthusiast that have lapped theres and have not encountered a problem.
I second the
Arctic Cooling Accelero. I doubt he will need the turbo module with that case, unless he plans on OCing his GPU.
As for the CPU HSF, of course the first nod goes to the Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme (especially if lapping), with the Xigmatek 1283 a close second. Even a ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120, a Tuniq T-120, or a Scythe Infinity 1100 would work great.
