I'm looking for a 2nd monitor for my setup. My main monitor is a 19" Viewsonic that is set at 1280x1024. I want a second monitor that can handle the same resolution but is as small as possible. I'm assuming that I can get a 17" monitor that will do that. I'm looking for a modle that has as small of a form factor as possible since I'm squeezing it to the side of the desk where there real estate is limited.

I more interested in matching resolutions than matching another 19". My main monitor is a great monitor and handles gaming very well. The second monitor doesn't have to be fast since I'll never be gaming on it.

So any recommendations on 1280x1024 with small footprint and minimal bezel size around the panel? .....and is still a decent monitor?

Thanks

I appreciate the link. I know this question is kinda vague...I just want the smallest 17" monitor available and it's a pain searching through all the specs for the sizes. Just thought someone may have a 17" they like that was smaller than usual.

When I say small...I'm talking about:
- small stand
- no speakers
- minimial bezel around the screen
- etc

Check out the Dell 17" panels. They have the smallest bases of any monitor I've seen and the bezel is about .5" around. I have 2 of the 1907fp and love them.

Are there any 15" LCD monitors that have a manufacturer recommended res of 1280x1024?

I get a lot of hits on googling for 15" LCD 1280x1024 but once you look at the specs the manufacturer always recommends 1024x768

Most (probably ALL) desktop LCD panels that are the same size are the same resolution.

20-inch = 1600x1200
19-inch and 17-inch = 1280x1024
15-inch = 1024x768

Samsung always has really thin bezels and fairly small stands linky Im sure you wouldn't be disappointed with any of those.

I can vouch for the 740BX myself. $210 plus the fact its a genuine 8 bit panel all make this a very good deal. As others have said, its like a mini professional 19" monitor.
